David S Craig is the co-founder and former Artistic Director of Roseneath Theatre and a playwright with twenty-nine professionally produced dramatic works including the award winning Danny, King of the Basement.

Iain Crichton Smith (1928–1998) was a Scottish poet and novelist, who wrote in both English and Gaelic. His work for the stage includes Lazybed (Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, 1997) and The Visitor, a short play staged as part of the triptych Family at the Traverse Theatre in 1999.

Martin Crimp was born in 1956 and began writing for the theatre in the 1980s. Attempts on her Life, written in 1997, established his international reputation, and the plays that followed – among them, The Country, Cruel and Tender (written for director Luc Bondy), The City and In the Republic of Happiness – have been seen by audiences across the world.

Nilo Cruz is a Cuban-American playwright. He is the author of the Pulitzer Prize–winning Anna in the Tropics, as well as Sotto Voce, Beauty of the Father, Two Sisters and a Piano, Lorca in a Green Dress, Dancing on Her Knees, Night Train to Bolina and other works.

Lluïsa Cunillé has written numerous plays, both in Catalan and Spanish. These include: Molt novembre (1993), La Festa (1994), Libración (1994, Premi de la Crítica de Barcelona 1993-1994), Accident (1996, Premi de la Institució de les Lletres Catalanes, 1997), Apocalipsi (1998), L'afer (1999, Premi Ciutat d'Alcoi 1998), La cita (1999), Passatge Gutenberg (2000, Premi de la Crítica de Barcelona 1999-2000), Vacants (2000), El gat negre (2001), L'aniversari (2001, Premi Born de Teatre 1999) and Aquel aire infinito (2003). She was awarded the National Dramatic Literature Award in 2010 by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.

Julian Curry (1937-2020) was a writer and actor who appeared in many of Shakespeare's plays. His extensive stage credits include leading roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, and in London's West End.

He was also well known as Claude Erskine-Brown in the popular television series Rumpole of the Bailey. Numerous other TV credits include Inspector Morse, Sherlock Holmes, The Misanthrope, King Lear, Kavanagh QC, The Wyvern Mystery, A Fine Romance and Midsomer Murders. Among many movies are The Missionary, Fall from Grace, Rasputin, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Escape to Victory (starring Pelé).

His one-man entertainment Hic! or The Entire History of Wine (abridged) was performed over a hundred and fifty times, from Hong Kong to Bermuda to San Francisco, and sold out as a cartoon-illustrated book. He also wrote and recorded A Guide to Wine for Naxos Audiobooks.

His books, Shakespeare On Stage and Shakespeare On Stage: Volume 2, were both shortlisted for the Theatre Book Prize, and are published by Nick Hern Books.
