Nicôle Lecky

Nicôle Lecky is an English-Jamaican writer and actress from London's East End. Her plays include Superhoe (Talawa Theatre and Royal Court, 2019), which she adapted into the six-part BBC television drama series Mood, first broadcast in 2022.

Kimber Lee is a New York-based playwright whose plays include untitled f*ck m*ss s**gon play (Manchester International Festival & Young Vic Theatre, London, 2023), the water palace (2021 Susan Smith Blackburn Finalist and Special Commendation Award), tokyo fish story (South Coast Rep, TheatreWorks/SV, Old Globe), brownsville song (b-side for tray) (Humana Festival, LCT3, Long Wharf Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Seattle Rep, Moxie Theatre, Shotgun Players), and different words for the same thing (Center Theatre Group).

She was the inaugural winner of the Bruntwood Prize International Award for untitled f*ck m*ss s**gon play.

Young Jean Lee

Young Jean Lee is a Brooklyn-based playwright, director, and filmmaker. She is the Artistic Director of Young Jean Lee's Theater Company, a not-for-profit theater company dedicated to producing her work. Her plays include Straight White Men, The Shipment, Lear, and Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven.

Her awards include a Guggenheim Fellowship, two Obie Awards, a Prize in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the 2019 Windham Campbell Prize for Drama, and a Doris Duke Performing Artist Award.

Eve Leigh

Eve Leigh is a playwright and theatremaker. Plays include The Trick (Bush Theatre/Hightide National Tour), Spooky Action at a Distance (Royal Court, RWCMD, Gate Theatre London), Stone Face (Finborough, shortlisted for three Offies, including Best New Play), Silent Planet (Finborough), The Curtain (Young Vic Taking Part), Plunder (Young Vic Taking Part), and Enough (Birmingham REP Young Rep).

Interactive installations include The Voice of the House (Duppini Art Group, Veliko Ternovo), Climate Games (Laboratory of the Insurrectionary Imagination/Berliner Festspiele/COP21, Paris), Your Future (Camden People's Theatre, Hebbel Am Ufer, Ballhaus Ost, and Sophiensaele, Berlin), A Short and Boring Story (Camden People's Theatre). 

In 2017 she was the first-ever artist-in-residence at the Experimental Stage of the National Theatre of Greece.

Rachel Lemon

Rachel Lemon is a freelance theatre director, teacher and facilitator. 

She is a member of Dirty Hare theatre company, whose productions include: Gunter (Edinburgh Fringe 2023; Royal Court Theatre, 2024) and Belly up (2020).


Maureen Lennon

Maureen Lennon is a playwright whose plays include: Helen (Theatre503, London) and Us Against Whatever (Middle Child Theatre/Hull Truck/Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, 2019).

Her play Helen was shortlisted for the Theatre 503 International Playwrighting Prize.


Gotthold Ephraim Lessing

Gotthold Ephraim Lessing (1729–1781) was a German writer, philosopher, dramatist, publicist and art critic, and an outstanding representative of the Enlightenment era. His plays and theoretical writings substantially influenced the development of German literature. He is widely considered by theatre historians to be the first dramaturg in his role at Abel Seyler's Hamburg National Theatre.
