Meg is living alone, cut off from the world that wants to keep her safe – and shut away. Her only contact with the outside world is through her carer, Samia. It's Samia's acts of kindness that make the difference. But is Samia willing to give Meg what she really wants?
Joel Tan's short play When the Daffodils is a searching portrait of human kindness in a world that sets limits on how we care for the vulnerable. It was first performed as part of Inside/Outside, a season of short plays staged at, and livestreamed from, the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond, in March 2021.
