Coronavirus (COVID-19) update and information
The Nick Hern Books office is temporarily closed until further notice due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. BUT we're still here, and our team is working remotely.
Please see below for some key information during this time.
1. Important information
Please note that, due to service limitations at our warehouse during the current coronavirus outbreak, we're not currently able to accept orders for paperbacks, hardbacks or audio disks via our website.
However, you can still buy our books from other retailers, including:
Ebook orders through our website are unaffected, and can still be purchased as usual at our standard 20% discount.
If you have any questions, or would like to get in touch about a recent order, please email us at email@example.com. Thank you for your understanding.
If you have an upcoming production licensed by us, please visit this page for answers to some frequently asked questions. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, then please get in touch with our Performing Rights team at firstname.lastname@example.org, who'll be happy to help you further.
In light of theatre closures following government advice, we've decided to pause all active Playscript Subscriptions until new play productions resume.
Subscriptions will be 'frozen' at their current month, and extended accordingly. Any new subscriptions purchased during this pause will start at the same time. If you're a Playscript Subscription customer and would like to discuss this further, please email us at email@example.com.
We value your support
Like everyone else in the industry, theatres going dark for an unknown period will hit us hard. We've had to indefinitely postpone upcoming titles, venue sales have stopped, physical bookshops are shut, and amateur performances have largely ceased. We'd be incredibly grateful for your support during this uncertain period. The NHB plays that have sadly been forced to close early – or couldn't even open – are still available on this website, along with hundreds of others. You can buy the playscripts, experience them at home, and help us and our writers at the same time.
If you want to get in touch to discuss anything, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. For now: stay safe, let's support and look out for each other, and we're not going anywhere.
2. Update on current plans
Though normal life is on hold, we're still working on a range of plans to keep our writers, readers and partners feeling engaged and supported during this period – including free creative resources, fun activities, and opportunities to make and enjoy brilliant new writing.
Keep up to date with everything we're doing with on our What We're Up To page.
