Prodigal
Rita's mum has just died, and now her brother Kasujja, who's been away for years, has turned up outside their mum's flat. Is it just money he wants, or something more?
Kalungi Ssebandeke's short play Prodigal is a two-hander about community, identity and the enduring strength of family ties. It was first performed as part of Inside/Outside, a season of short plays staged at, and livestreamed from, the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond, in March 2021.
It is published in the collection Inside/Outside.
